Our medium stainless steel dog tags for pets are unique, classy, finely crafted, and made from the highest and best quality materials. These durable dog tags for pets are cast from yacht grade duplex 2205 stainless steel at a foundry here in Maine. The duplex 2205 stainless steel alloy we use is unsurpassed for its durable hardness and non-corrosive properties. The alloy is 100% rust-proof (even in salt water). The best of the best, this quality alloy is also scratch resistant, chew proof and will not ever shrivel, bend, blacken, become dull, or wear through at the loop. At 1 1/8″ in diameter, the pet id tags are also thick, measuring the whopping equivalent of two quarters stacked together. A very thick, durable loop insures the pet id tags will not wear through, fall off, or be lost.

FRONT & BACK
The front of the medium stainless steel Heart ID tag has a sweet raised graphic of a Heart with an adorable paw print! This highly polished Heart stands proudly above a recessed matte stainless steel surface. It gives the tag a real jewelry like, two toned appearance that is truly unique. The matte surface stays matte because it is recessed. The back of the tag holds your engraving on its polished surface.
ENGRAVING
Engraving quality is just as important as the tag design and material itself. The medium stainless steel Heart ID tag boasts 4 lines of engraving which includes 15 characters per line. A pulsed fiber laser is used to deeply vaporize metal from the lines being engraved. The laser process leaves a very crisp, well defined, blackened line behind which is really optimal for readability. A lifetime guarantee accompanies all of our tags and that guarantee includes the engraving as well as the tag.
Also, if for some reason, you ever need to change the information on the back of your tag, we can regrind, polish, and engrave the tag all over again. There is a charge for this service but it insures that you will never have to truly replace your tag. After all, a Silver Paw tag is a “forever tag” that you will eventually cherish even more one day…

Almost perfect This is a substantial and beautiful tag, but with so much attention to detail and aesthetics, why can’t the name engraving be a deeper, thicker line? I am so disappointed that it is done with the same razor-narrow etching that is used these days on all the other cheap tags. Part of my motivation to purchase this one was that I assumed (wrongly, it turns out) that the engraving would done better and be more readable.

Paw print on our hearts This is actually Hope’s second Silver Paw tag. She won the first one when it was generously donated to a fundraiser at the Lowell Humane Society (Lowell, MA). As a native Mainer, I was excited to see something from Maine and even more excited to win. Unfortunately, all of Hope’s tags were put on one ring, which wasn’t strong enough to hold them all. Much to my disappointment, her Heart ID Tag was lost. What a wonderful dog tag.!!! My 8 month old Lacey Mae is a chewer. She especially loves to chew on her dog tags that dangle down from her collar. She has ruined, so far, 2 dog tags from her chewing to where u cant see the important info on the back anymore.
